ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Being in a constant search for a meaning to life, my work seeks to understand people, what shapes their identity, and how they interact with the world around them. My feminist gaze crosses everything I see and make; in my art, women are often the center of attention. Loving to see where art can take me, I let myself be guided by my instincts and the meaning of my work only becomes clear once the piece is finished. I mostly draw female bodies, which I find very empowering.
Loving to explore new horizons, I vary the ways I express myself: music, photography, writing, sculpture, painting, drawing, and printmaking, although I have always preferred visual arts. My mediums of choice will always remain those of my childhood and adolescence, which are graphite, charcoal, and pen, since they bring me some sense of comfort.
Art has always been a way for me to connect with others, as I see it as a sharing of knowledge and emotions between the artist and the viewer. It allows me to interact with the world around me, and therefore make some sense out of it.
