POSTER DESIGN

                     As the LEAP Festival marks an end to its participant’s Cégep journey, I was inspired by the idea of jumping into the unknown and that of taking a leap of faith. In my poster design, I chose to represent the very moment when we are about to jump, when we close our eyes very tightly, when we take all the courage we can find within and we just take a big jump.

                Feeling inspired by punk music and style, I decided to give my character spiky red hair, and an overall ‘’alternative’’ look.

                In popular culture, the third eye (also called ‘’the mind’s eye’’ or ‘’the inner eye’’) stands for a gate to the inner self, an eye that can see beyond eye-sight. The third eye on my character’s forehead is a reminder to always trust our inner voice/instincts. Coming back to the idea of jumping into the unknown, I wanted to stress that we never jump into things completely blind; if we decided to take a jump, it is because something within us was pushing us towards making that decision.
